The Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal Peeling System

This peeling system is incredibly successful in removing the dead layers of the skin, effectively treating the following conditions: 

-aging skin, especially the deep wrinkles on the upper lip

How many Renewal peels do I need?

Some people initially require one to two Skin Renewal Peels to achieve the best results possible with this dramatically successful treatment.

They are usually spaced out by 6 weeks.

Some patients may only require 1 treatment, but this is dependant on the main conditions being treated.

Aftercare is very important in the form of SPF, Sun Hats, sun protection, Medical grade skin care, and a yearly GetGlowing peel is always a great way to maintain.

Do I need a pre-peel
Consultation?

You most definitely do.
This is to discuss pre and post care, expectations, explain the process in detail, to look at your medical history, and to ensure their are no medical contra-indications present.

How long am I out of action for with the Renewal peel?

​

Day 1 is at the clinic, where you will spend 2-3 hours having the peel done. 

Day 2 you return to the clinic for part 2 of the application, and this takes just over 2 hours. You will then need to stay out of the sun for the next week. 

​

*5 days of serious hibernation is usually recommended, as the peeling is extreme, and all patients are to purchase sunglasses, a CANSA association sun hat, and a scarf to protect the neck.

After a week, you are to please return to the clinic where we will remove the layers of dead skin and unveil your new, baby fresh skin.

Common questions:

​

Is the peel painful?
As the peel is applied, there is a stinging heat for a few minutes.
We make you as comfortable as possible with multiple fans blowing on you. This stinging sensation does not last long. Most patients fall asleep during their two hour treatment with the peel on.

​

Can I scratch my skin?
Under no circumstances. The skin must peel naturally. You also must avoid setting the skin.

Can I only do my face with the peel?
No. The peel yields excellent results on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands; but no area bigger than the face and neck can be done in one treatment, therefore multiple areas must be split up.

What is the Elaine Brennan GetGlowing Micro-Peel?

This peel is a treatment in which a cream-like substance is applied to the skin to encourage the exfoliation of dead skin cells and debris while stimulating the skin’s natural renewal process. 

The GetGlowing Micro-Peel is tailored to fit a client's individual skin type and long-term goals.

Why was the GetGlowing Micro-Peel Formulated?

This Micro-Peel was created for clients who cannot afford the down time of the Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal Peeling, as well as for clients looking for a less expensive option.

How does the GetGlowing Micro-Peel differ from the Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal Peel?

There is no comparison between the two peels and should not be confused with one another. The GetGlowing Micro-Peel is a mild peeling which will lightly exfoliate the skin leaving it refreshed and soft.

What results will I see?
The GetGlowing Micro-peel is designed to

How many treatments do clients need?For maximum results, we recommend a series of three to four GetGlowing Micro-Peel procedures in four to six week intervals, depending on the skin type.

Will clients experience any downtime?
For approximately one week following the procedure, the skin will undergo a renewal process, lightly shedding its dead outer layer. Depending on the skin, clients may or may not experience peeling. If peeling occurs, it usually begins four to five days following the treatment and lasts for approximately three days. In addition, clients may experience mild itching, dryness and redness.

How long does the treatment take?
Clients will need to be in the clinic for about 90 minutes. The peeling may be done on its own, after a facial treatment or after deep pore cleansing treatment.

Can the general public purchase the Micro-Peel?
No, the Micro-Peeling is a professional product only, and should only be done in a Medical Aesthetic clinic.

Do I need to have a consultation before my peel?

Yes you do. It is imperative that we talk through your skin care preparation and your aftercare in order to achieve the best, safest results possible.

Before you begin, be prepared to hide for 5 days whilst you shed your unwanted skin. Our technique involves two separate applications of a special cream to the skin, 24 hours apart. Immediately after the first application, the skin is red but not unsightly.

​

After the third day however, it is a different story. The skin takes on a brownish tinge which darkens to its maximum intensity on the fourth day. It looks like a skier who has forgotten to protect himself from the sun and landed up with severe sunburn. The difference of course is that while the sunburn destroys the skin, the peeling restores it.
